Mould making
We produce direct CNC milled moulds or simple single piece moulds through to complex multi part moulds taken from patterns. The material depends on your budget and the size of the production run.
Cut the mould, skip the pattern.
Where the geometry allows, we machine the mould itself on the CMS 5 axis Ares mill rather than making a pattern first. It takes a whole stage out of the programme and the tool inherits the accuracy of your model directly.
What decides the tooling.
Run size
A one off can come straight off a CNC milled tool. Longer runs justify aluminium or pre-preg carbon, which will hold tolerance over hundreds of pulls without reworking.
Surface finish
Where the finished component needs an A surface, the mould carries it. We machine and polish the tool to the finish you need rather than trying to work it out of the part afterwards.
Lead time
Direct milled moulds remove the pattern stage completely. When a programme is tight, that is usually the fastest route from a signed off model to a first part.
